How to set up an Amazon seller account

May 5, 2024

The most challenging part of the process is choosing between an individual or professional account.

Compared to a Professional plan, an Individual selling plan offers fewer initial costs but is less flexible. Rather than paying a monthly subscription fee of $39.99, Individual sellers are only billed $0.99 per item sold on the platform. On the other hand, a Professional plan will give you access to more advanced tools for managing and marketing your products. In some cases, you might even be required to have a Professional plan if you're planning to sell products under restricted categories.

Either way, the costs involved in starting a business on Amazon are your responsibility as a seller. An Individual plan holder doesn't pay fees until an item sells but has fewer features.

Ultimately, it all depends on your needs. That being said, choosing the Individual plan is the best choice if your product volume is low at the start
